Sigrid Benson's detailed pen-and-ink and pencil drawings are abstractions, usually of natural objects or based on natural settings. According to one reviewer, with her "use of design and color, the commonplace becomes uncommon and interesting."
Many of her more recent works are spray enamels, using natural materials and structures to create textures and designes. A new series of works, including collages, are derived from the enamels and explore light, adding such elements as mirror shards, metallic confetti, and jewels.
