Burke is a native Texan, born in Dallas, Texas. He grew up in Texarkana, Arkansas, and was always "drawing things." As a young man he studied advertising art and fine art at Harris Art School in Nashville, Tennessee.

His life's work career wasn't spent "doing art," but he always desired to someday become a painter. He continued to study art over the years, focussing on watercolors and taking lessons from various artists from New Jersey to Texas to New Mexico. He now spends his time between painting, teaching, caring for his "rural retreat and studio" in Rains County, TX, and serving in his church.

Burke's art works reflect his love of God's creations, whether it be flowers, animals, outdoor scenes, people, or things people have designed and built. He spends as much time in the Rocky Mountains of New Mexico and Colorado as he can, and studies and paints there with artist friends. He has a residence and studio in Red River, NM.

He has been painting "seriously" now for several years. He is currently represented in New Mexico galleries plus prints in various gift shops in New Mexico and Texas. He has prints and original paintings at his TripleOak Art Studio in Rains County, TX.

Burke is available for commissions, and has numerous original paintings available. For more information or an appointment to visit please call Burke or Sue Burns. Phone numbers: (903) 473-8003, and (903) 474-9478 (fax also). E-mail: rbb@argontech.net
