Thank you for visiting my website. My work is inspired by vintage or obscure black and white
photos. After getting appropriate permission, I free hand draw the compositions or variations of
them on large 300 lb rough watercolour paper and implement my own colours. I imagine an
array and intermingling of vivid hues and with careful detail and in various lovingly layered
washes create a painting.
As a small way to help needs of people, animals, and the environment world wide, I am offering
a part of my artistic endeavour as a way to raise money for various charities/nonprofits. As a
buyer, you can pay 70% of the sale price of an original art work to a charity or nonprofit of your
choice. You can simply make out a check or credit card transaction to the organisation and also
take the tax deduction for that portion! The true purchase price of the art would then be the 30%
sent to me to cover material and advertising expenses basically. In this way, I am hoping to
enable you as a buyer to make donations to a personal, worthy cause and enjoy a piece of my art.
All paintings are also available as 5x7 blank greeting/note cards with envelopes. These arc
suitable for framing, hand signed and include a brief description of the source of the inspiratiop,
such as the true history/date of the image as known. Any info regarding city or other
circumstance will be included. In this way any known history of the picture can be viewed at
once with the image and captured moment in time that I have portrayed. In order to further
benefit your desired charity, I will also write a brief reference on the back of each card (i.e.
name and phone number or simply a website if it includes the name). The minimum order for
cards is 12 for $28.00 (approximately $2.35 each). Postage (USA) is included for any card order.
Any variety of cards can be mixed, no minimum per image, and other designs are available from
my colour brochure. 60% of the sale price of cards will go to the charity of your choice ($17.00)
and 40% ($11.00) is payable to me to cover the costs of the card making and materials.
On a personal note in addition to being an artist, I am also a speech pathologist and work with
children and adults presenting with an array of speech, language and social communication
deficits in a local rehabilitation hospital, several nursing homes and a school district. I have
always felt that helping and working with the many emotional and physical plights of others has
encouraged me to become a better, more sensitive and probing artist. Scheduling and adjusting
to the various needs of patients and students has also helped me to organise my design and
colour elements in art in a mature manner.
I live in Los Angeles with my husband Ray and two internationally adopted little girls, Marielle
and Angeline, whom we are so thankful for everyday. We are genuinely happy to give them a
new forever family and wholeheartedly wish the same for the many children in the world both
domestically and internationally who are also searching for a loving family. Finally, my family
and I remain committed to animals and their cause. We currently have five rescued dogs and cats
and are always teaching our children to love and respect all creatures no matter how great or
small.
