We have divided modern art rather arbitrarily into the
following wings.
Abstract Art Objective abstract
art. Here, the composition may comprise recognizable elements,
but the representation of people or real objects is secondary to
design and symbolism.
Abstract Expressionism
Nonobjective art. Here, the composition may not resemble anything
in the real world. Music for the eye, this art form does not
strive to imitate reality.
Surreal
Art . In this form of art the subject is rendered
realistically, but the composition conveys a dream-like,
sometimes imposssible, often freudian, quality.
Modern
Sculpture Three-dimensional work that breaks the bonds
of traditional sculpture. This work engages the emotions by forms
never before imagined, or by combinations of found objects in
compositions suggestive of not quite identifiable ideas.
