RAINBOWMAN, right facing and left facing
The rainbow signifies different things to different pueblo tribes. Some say that the rainbow stops the rain while others say that it brings the rain. I like the Judo-Christian symbolic link. In these paintings it is the promise of renewal of the cycle of life. The background is of the Grand Canyon and the Kachinas come up from its depth, the possible home of the ant people who sheltered the people from the destruction of the third world. If you would like more details regarding the Kachinas contact me.
Both of these images required a lot of photoshop adjusting to recreate the impact of the originals. They make a stunning flanking for a horizontal painting such as “Golden Winters” or “Medicine Horse”. (Soon there will be a landscape or so which will be smashing with these two!)
