Deceptively small until you get inside, the gallery is not only large in size, but in the amount of quality art it contains. Treasure Art Gallery, owned by oil painter Stephen Juharos and his wife Mary, is the oldest gallery in Sedona that still has the original owners. The gallery also exhibits local and out-of-state artists. The new parking lot is also a treat because it provides a view of some of the most dramatic red rock formations in the Sedona area.
Stephen Juharos came to Sedona more than 50 years ago when the town was less than a one-horse stop. The gallery was established in 1961. The beauty of the area was challenging in every way to an artist like Stephen. Stephen has produced work that reflects the beauty of Sedona and it graces the walls of Treasure Art Gallery. Stephen passed away on December 13, 2010.
