BUFFALO SOLDIER SERIES

The Buffalo Soldiers were the 9th and 10th Regiment of the U.S. Cavalry formed by an Act of Congress in 1866. They were given the name Buffalo Soldiers by the Indians which they were embattle with on the western frontier. The mission of the 9th and 10th cavalry was multifaceted, and included patrolling the Mexican border, blazing trails west and protecting settlers.
